Effective August 2, 2026. Your photos are private by default. We use them only to create and deliver the Storybook Studio features you request and share them only with service providers required to operate those features. We do not sell your photos or use them for advertising.
Information we process
- Account information such as your email address and display name.
- Photos, character details, story instructions, generated illustrations, and book files.
- Purchase, print-order, and delivery information. Payment-card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by Storybook Studio.
- Limited operational data such as request timing, error details, device type, and security events.
How photos and stories are used
We process selected photos and story instructions to detect subjects, create character references, write your story, generate illustrations, assemble files, and provide support. We do not use names, emails, photos, story text, or addresses in product analytics. We do not use customer photos to train our own models.
In an anonymous template draft, we store your selections and private uploads so you can finish or resume checkout. We do not send those photos or custom instructions to an AI provider until Stripe confirms payment. Unpaid template drafts and their private uploads expire after 24 hours.
Service providers
We use infrastructure and specialist providers to operate the service, including Supabase for authentication and private storage, Vercel for hosting, OpenAI and fal.ai for requested AI processing, Stripe for payments, Resend for transactional email, and printing and delivery partners when you order a printed book. These providers process only the information needed for their role and are governed by their own security, retention, and contractual controls.
Storage, access, and retention
Account book assets are stored in private storage and shown through time-limited links. Anonymous landing-page uploads expire after 24 hours if they are not attached to an account. AI providers may retain limited request or abuse-monitoring data under their policies; we configure supported provider output storage to expire as quickly as practical after it is copied to our private storage.
Books and reusable characters remain available until you delete them or your account. When you delete eligible content, we begin removing associated active files. Limited backups, security records, purchase records, and provider logs may remain for their defined retention periods or where law requires.
Children’s privacy
Storybook Studio is for adult account holders and is not directed to children. Adults must have authority to upload a child’s image or personal information. Do not ask a child to create an account or submit information directly. Contact us immediately if you believe a child provided information without appropriate adult authorization.
Your choices
You can edit or delete eligible books and characters from your account. You may also request account deletion, access, or correction by emailing support@storybookstudio.io. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Safety and security
We use private object storage, time-limited access links, row-level database authorization, encrypted transport, and restricted service credentials. No online system can promise absolute security. See our Security page for more detail and reporting instructions.
