Gifts by age

Gifts for 1-year-olds, plus one they'll still have at 10

For a first birthday, a personalized picture book is the wrong pick. It starts at 3, not at 1. The spreads are a treasure hunt whose text says five. There is no board edition. Save a clear photo until you are ready.

Story excerpt

Ellie woke up with five fingers stretched toward the ceiling. Today she was five. Even her toes felt excited. Beside her breakfast sat a little envelope. Inside was a picture of a sunflower—and a shiny golden star.

These pages come from a made-up family. The book you make uses your names, photos, and the details you share, and its story is written fresh.

Who it's for

Plan the messy part on purpose: a smash portion on a washable cloth, plain plates, a short playlist, and a note on the invite about where visitors should park. Juice boxes and a spare outfit belong in the diaper bag you carry anyway. None of those errands are products on this site.

The thing people hope to set beside the smash portion is the wrong one for twelve months. Homecoming art, if that is what you wanted, is on the new baby lander and in books for babies. The spreads show a five-year-old.

A hardcover needs printing and shipping, so open what it costs before promising one for a booked slot. The file can exist sooner, yet the text is written for ages 3 to 7. There is no thick-page edition and no second size. A guest needs a yes from home before using a picture. Keep that picture in your own camera roll. We do not store it on your behalf.

The keepsake worth making at twelve months is homemade: an inked handprint on cardstock, a curl saved from the barber, a sealed letter addressed to a teenager, plus frosting-smeared snapshots from the highchair. Slip the sharpest portrait into that envelope too.

Lap reading matters for babies. A toddler pats fur, points at ducks, chews corners, and mostly hears a parent's voice. Chunky cardboard picks from your nursery shelf suit that. Ours uses long sentences and clues meant for older listeners.

If an older cousin or sibling is between 3 and 7, order for them and wait on this one. Open that book only once the age you will enter reaches 3. Begin it uses the same gate. A name pasted on the link changes a caption and is ignored when you pay.

What gets personalized

Entering 1 is refused. A detail you type does not convert the plot into a month-by-month album.

You give the real age when ordering, from 3 to 7. Add only people you have a clear picture for, and stop when the cast is full.

Format, price, and timing

A party weekend is a poor moment to discover that a wrapped copy needs printing plus shipping. Pricing lists that interval and the carrier. This note prints no last day to buy, and it does not offer a board edition that skips the wait.

Questions

Can this sit with the other party things?

Not for someone who just turned one. The minimum is 3. Press time may also miss a slot already scheduled. Check the cost before you promise a hardcover.

What should we give a baby turning one instead?

Simple things a one-year-old can stack, push, or look at with a grown-up. We do not sell those, and we do not rate rival brands for safety.

How do we save these memories until the story fits?

Label a shoebox with the party's month and place. Drop in the candle, a crown, the guest list, and a glossy snapshot of crawling or wobbly steps. Jot down early words and favorite songs on an index card. Those notes become useful prompts once your toddler reaches 3.

Is there a thick-page edition that skips the wait?

No. Digital, softcover, and hardcover are the formats. None of them is a board edition, and none of them skips the press time.
