Gifts by age

A first birthday book that tells their first year

Parents often want a first birthday book that gathers a baby's year, the people, and a few photos into one story. The story shown here is not that album. It is a fifth birthday treasure hunt, and the opening line says the child is five. The story starts at age 3, so age 1 is too young.

If you are choosing a birthday book, read Hooray Heroes or Storybook Studio for a birthday book. For the months before the first birthday, see personalized books for babies.

Story excerpt

Ellie woke up with five fingers stretched toward the ceiling. Today she was five. Even her toes felt excited. Beside her breakfast sat a little envelope. Inside was a picture of a sunflower—and a shiny golden star.

These pages come from a made-up family. The book you make uses your names, photos, and the details you share, and its story is written fresh.

Who it's for

Use the baby guide if you want newborn homecoming art. Use this guide if you are deciding whether the birthday story can serve a first birthday. It cannot take age 1. A grandparent can still order a book for a child aged 3 to 7 and write a private detail in the memory box.

Spreads are the waking-up morning, the sunflower invitation, and the apple-tree moment when Mom says they can take their time. Those scenes are a garden party for a child who talks. They are not monthly milestone cards.

Photos to use, when the age does fit, are clear pictures of the child and anyone else in the story. A stack of twelve monthly photos is not a supported collage mode.

What gets personalized

Party timing is the production lead plus shipping if you need paper. The on-screen book does not follow the printer's clock. The price section is the only schedule.

There is no dedication page in the birthday story. A first-year sentence belongs in the optional memory box. The holiday guides are the ones with a dedication line.

Format, price, and timing

First birthdays sneak up. The cards are what the book costs. If guests are coming on a Saturday, paper only happens when Pricing's production and transit fit before then. This keepsake guide does not invent a rush date.

Questions

Which photos should we use?

Clear photos of the people who will be characters. The pages shown here have an illustrated child, Mom, and Dad. It does not ingest a camera roll of a first year.

Can grandparents give it?

Yes, for a child aged 3 to 7, with a photo they have the right to use. Age 1 is too young for this story. They enter the shipping address at checkout.

Will it be ready for the party?

Check the production time and shipping speeds in the format section before you promise a printed copy. The digital book is a separate, faster read.
