Story excerpt
Ellie woke up with five fingers stretched toward the ceiling. Today she was five. Even her toes felt excited. Beside her breakfast sat a little envelope. Inside was a picture of a sunflower—and a shiny golden star.
These pages come from a made-up family. The book you make uses your names, photos, and the details you share, and its story is written fresh.
The cat who already runs the couch
Cat households know who is in charge. A child who narrates every windowsill patrol, saves a cushion, or insists the cat gets frosting too, will recognize the joke when that cat shows up in the drawings beside them.
Cats are harder to photograph than dogs, so plan the sitting. Wait for a calm minute near a window, get down to whisker height, and take a few shots where the face, ears, and coat markings are crisp. A blurry tail vanishing behind the sofa will not give the illustrator enough.
Every close-up is one person or one creature. A lap picture of the child holding the cat is not split into two faces. The cast tops out at four, with the child required, and the cat takes one of the remaining spots. A second animal would take another.
This is about a child who is 3 through 7 and a cat. It is not a baby album. A grandparent story, if that is what you wanted instead, includes people only, so the cat would not appear there.
What gets personalized
Enter the child's first name, a number from 3 through 7, and one crisp close-up. Put the cat in with its own close-up and the name you actually call across the kitchen. Mention a habit, such as napping in the laundry basket or chasing a red dot, so the cat behaves like itself.
A tabby who chirps at sparrows through the glass, or who kneads a fleece blanket before sleeping, gives the illustrator something true. A parent or a dog can join too, within four seats. Write a dedication if you like. You look over the drawings before illustration continues, and the file comes with the purchase.
Format, price, and timing
Adding a cat does not change how long paper takes. The cards are the book totals. Pricing holds production and transit. The digital file is ready the day you approve the proof, and this pet guide prints no order-by date.

Questions
Can our cat be illustrated into the story?
Yes. Give the cat its own crisp close-up. Dogs are supported too. Other creatures are not.
What should a cat close-up show?
A crisp, well-lit picture at whisker height, with the face, ears, and coat markings visible. Take it near a window when the cat is settled, not mid-sprint.
Can the cat and a dog share the story?
Yes, while the total stays at four seats including the child, with a separate close-up for the cat and another for the dog.
